Rekha Dhayakaran, MSc student in Biological Engineering and member of the BioNano Lab of the University of Guelph won first prize (Cash reward of 2,500$) in the graduate category of PROJECT SOYcompetition. Rekha developed a novel soy isoflavone product called "SoyAntiBiosis" using super critical carbon dioxide extraction and fractional distillation techniques and demonstrated its efficacy against food-borne pathogens such as Listeria Monocytogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and E. Coli. A big congratulations to Rekha !!
